A question for teachers

When you were a new teacher, did you solicit help from teachers at your school? Did you randomly pop into rooms asking for help or did you go to the teachers who reached out to you first? Do you feel like it’s the responsibility of a new teacher to go ask everyone for help?

    1. joycelyndiane answered: Yes, no one will know you need help if you dont ask, ask them once and if anyone is negative make a note not to go there again. I did it all

    3. oliviaobryon answered: I ask for help all the time— but I also get offered a ton of help from my grade level team, so that makes it easier to ask… :)

    7. mgweng74 answered: It’s both. New teachers are usually assigned a mentor teacher but the new teacher should also be proactive in seeking help from the team.

    19. tomesaway answered: I never asked for help. Not that I didn’t need it (I definitely did at first), but I was stubborn and wanted to figure things out on my own.
